The internet is buzzing with excitement after the first look of Vidyut Jammwal as a mystic yogi in his Hollywood debut ‘Street Fighter’ was unveiled.

Fans got their first glimpse of Vidyut in a Dhalsim-inspired avatar during the 2025 Game Awards. With a bald head, bold red stripes, transformed appearance, Vidyut looks almost unrecognisable.

The teaser trailer showcased his intense energy and martial arts skills. Alongside the trailer, the makers also released striking posters of the main characters from the film.

In the first look, Vidyut’s lean and muscular frame drapes in rustic orange cloths, adorned with heavy metal bangles and tribal-inspired accessories that give him a fierce, mystical aura. Kohl-lined eyes, a dramatic brow and a dynamic martial arts stance complete the Dhalsim look.

Known in the game universe as a yogi with fire-spitting powers, Dhalsim is “a peaceful man who fights to protect his family.”

‘Street Fighter’ cast

‘Street Fighter’ brings together an ensemble of Hollywood and international stars. Noah Centineo and Callina Liang lead the younger fighters, while wrestling and music icons like Cody Rhodes (Guile), Jason Momoa (Blanka), and 50 Cent (Balrog) join the roster.

The cast also features Orville Peck as Vega, Oliver Richters as Zangief, Hirooki Goto as E Honda, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Roman Reigns as Akuma, and Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki. Comedians and actors Eric André and Mel Jarnson play Don Sauvage and Cammy, respectively, with Rayna Vallandingham as Juli and Alexander Volkanovski as Joe.

About ‘Street Fighter’

Set in 1993, the new ‘Street Fighter’ film follows Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo). They are two estranged fighters who pull back into the world of combat by the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang).

The story revolves around the World Warrior Tournament, a brutal clash of fists, fate, and hidden agendas. As the fighters face off, they confront dangerous conspiracies and the demons of their past. According to the official synopsis, if they fail, “it’s game over.”

The film is directorial of Kitao Sakurai, with a screenplay by Dalan Musson. Legendary Entertainment co-produced the movie with Capcom, the Japanese video game developer behind the iconic franchise. Paramount Pictures will handle its distribution.

‘Street Fighter’ release date

Fans won’t have to wait too long to see the action on the big screen. ‘Street Fighter’ is ready for release on October 16, 2025.
